Submitted by: JustRightMenus
Description:
One of the best treats summer can bring!
Note: refrigerate unhusked corn until ready to use. Remove husks and silk just before cooking.
Ingredients
Whole Corn: Choose corn with bright green, tight-fitting husks and fresh-looking silk.
Sugar (optional)
Lemon juice (optional)
Directions
To Boil:
Place ears in a large pot.
Fill with enough (UNsalted) cold water to cover the ears.
Add 1 TB sugar and 1 TB lemon juice per gallon of water (if desired).
Heat to boiling.
Cover, and boil l6 to 8 minutes.
To Steam:
Fill a large pot with about 1-2 inches of water - OR, use a steaming pot. This kind of pot would allow the corn to cook without sitting in the water at all.
Heat water to boiling.
Add the corn, and cook 5 to 7 minutes, or until tender.
