Mushrooms for Steak

Best steak mushrooms ever, end of story.

3 c mushrooms (Portobella, if they're on sale!)

2 TB butter (OPTIONAL)

1 clove garlic, minced (and not any more than this - it gets overpowering, trust me; and I love garlic!)

2 TB red wine

1/4 c water

1/4 c bouillon (beef is fine ... lamb is fabulous)


Saute mushrooms and garlic in butter (or w/o butter in a nonstick pan).

Deglaze the pan wtih the red wine.

Add bouillon - reduce to just a bit of liquid.


**If it's too thin of a sauce with the mushrooms, sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir while it bubbles. It'll thicken pretty quickly.**
