German Potato Salad for Five

Ingredients
1 2/3 lb. potato
2/3 lb. bacon
2 onions, sliced
a bit of corn starch
salt & pepper
1 c. water
1/3 c. vinegar
1/4 c. sugar
Directions
Boil potatoes whole, then slice & layer in a large dish.
Slice the bacon into 1" pieces and brown in a pan. Add water, vinegar, sugar, and bring it all to a boil.
Add enough corn starch to thicken - to do so, add it first to a bit of the liquid in a cup, then add that back into the pan.
Saute the onions a bit, then add them to the rest.
Toss it all together.
